{"id":80,"date":"2024-07-08T14:26:00","date_gmt":"2024-07-08T14:26:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/theoaks.cheshire.sch.uk\/?page_id=80"},"modified":"2026-10-06T11:03:51","modified_gmt":"2026-10-06T11:03:51","slug":"special-educational-needs","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/theoaks.cheshire.sch.uk\/index.php\/special-educational-needs\/","title":{"rendered":"Special Educational Needs"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">All schools are supported to be as inclusive as possible, with the needs of pupils\u2019 with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities being met in a mainstream setting wherever possible.&nbsp;The four broad \u2018areas of need\u2019 are defined as:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Communication and Interaction<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Cognition and Learning<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Social, Emotional and Mental Health Difficulties<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Sensory and Physical Needs.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">From the January 2015, under Section 65 (3) (a) of the Special Educational Needs (Information) Regulations, all schools are required to publish an SEND Information Report on their school websites.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This report must contain SEND information as is set out in the Schedule, as well as utilising the Local Authority (LA) Local Offer. Consequently, the report should meet the needs of SEND pupils as determined by school policy and the provision that the school is able to determine.
