Hello, and welcome to our Year 4 class website! We’re so excited to have you join us on this amazing learning journey.
In English, we’ll delve into magical stories and texts like, Amazing Islands, Alba the Hundred Year old Fish and Blue John. In Maths we will develop our knowledge with Fractions, Decimals, Time and Shape.
In Science, we’ll explore Human Nutrition & Grouping living things and dangers to living things! History will transport us to the Roman Empire, while Geography will explore different aspects of North America.
Our creativity will shine in D&T and Art, where we’ll be exploring still life and Sculpture.

This Term
This term, our students will dive into learning across subjects! In English, we’ll sharpen our writing skills as we explore Christine Balit’s Escape from Pompeii in conjunction with The Secrets of Vesuvius by Caroline Lawrence Pompeii: Lost. In Maths we will continue to develop our skills in Multiplication & Division and then following on to Length & Perimeter.
Science will take us on a journey looking at Electricity and exploring who Thomas Edison was. In D&T, apply our knowledge of Electricity to create our own Electrical systems.
PE we will continue to develop our throwing and catching skills through Basketball and Dodgeball.
